How It Works

How Quorum Direct to Cloud (D2C) Solution Works

onQ D2C uses high speed, encrypted VPN tunnel technology to securely connect your servers and applications to Quorum cloud, allowing back-ups to go directly to the Quorum Cloud and for you to recover directly from the cloud.

1. Onsite onQ appliance is NOT needed to get 1-click instant recovery.

2. onQ D2C provides the best combination of security and performance for customers who are moving more of their IT resources to the cloud for lower cost and added simplicity.

3. onQ D2C leverages the Quorum Cloud for disaster recovery (DR) and archiving. While running on the onQ Cloud, all data are backed up so nothing is lost.

Quorum’s Direct to Cloud Solution brings enterprise-grade disaster recovery to smaller environments — optimized for performance and designed to be cost-effective.

Key Benefits & Highlights

No onsite hardware requirement – no hardware purchase cost and no hardware maintenance

All data encrypted in motion and at rest – secure, high speed backup and recovery directly to and from the Quorum cloud

Can be used with onQ appliances – flexible architecture allows for some servers to be protected locally, and some to be protected using D2C

One easy-to-use management console – all servers under protection look the same whether they are protected by D2C or onQ appliances

Unlimited backup, recovery and retention – achieve your RTO and RPO and maintain retention without worrying about hardware upgrades

onQ Local is ideal for businesses that are looking for:

GMinimize hardware expense

Minimize hardware and data center management

Ideal for organizations that are downsizing their hardware footprint

Ideal for organizations that are pushing their business apps to the cloud

Requirements for onQ Local:

Require more network bandwidth than an onsite onQ appliance

Require a dedicated, encrypted VPN tunnel to maintain the same RPO and RTO

For some organizations with high network latency and high transaction rate applications, a local onQ appliance may provide higher performance
